Summer is already peeking around the corner – at least in Italy. But before that, it’s time to celebrate one of the most magical seasons in the neighboring country: When the gardens all around are resplendent and guests stroll along the promenade, spring has arrived on Lake Como. Il Sereno is considered to be one of the most exclusive hotels in the region. And it also starts the season with a new look.
One Million Invested
The legendary house treated itself to a facelift over the winter break that would make any diva green with envy. One million euros went into the modernization. Now the property shines in new splendor – contemporary aesthetics and timeless elegance unite in intimate togetherness. The work was extensive. Il Sereno was given a new façade and new floors. The elevators were lined with marble from the Aosta Valley. The fitness room will also feature the latest equipment. But that is by no means all.
Guests can now also book the new, exquisite Picoletta Suite. If you would like to take a piece of Il Sereno. home with you, the best place to visit is the new Larusamiani boutique. Because here you can buy handmade items and exclusive pieces. They add a touch of luxury to your home.
Glitzy Fleet
Talking about luxury. What could be better than preparing your own cocktails in the privacy of your own suite or terrace while enjoying the culinary delights of the starred restaurant? The new cocktail trolleys make it possible! They are equipped with everything Mixologists to Be need to shake your own. The trolleys are not only practical, but also pretty to look at. Patricia Urquiola was responsible for their design.
The motorized vehicle fleet of Il Sereno has a little more horsepower. Guests can now enjoy spring on Lake Como on a Vespa APE, in a Fiat 500 convertible, in a FIAT Topolino, in a new Maserati or on the elegant Ernesto Riva boat. Idyllic landscapes – and the water – can be explored in style. The excursion on the lake is made perfect with a wonderfully private sunbath on deck.
The tried and tested remains
Il Sereno has of course stood out for years. The lakeside hideaway designed by Patricia Urquiola. has always been a very special place. Guests at the 40-suite boutique hotel on Lake Como enjoy lake views from their private terraces, for example. Another culinary highlight of the entire region is Raffaele Lenzi’s superb cuisine. In the hotel’s own Ristorante Il Sereno Al Lago, he serves classics such as Vegetali, Tuberi & Radici.
You can then relax either with a long swim in the 30-metre-long freshwater infinity pool (Insta-hotspot! It seems to float above the lake) or in the spa. The latter can be found under centuries-old original stone arches. The treatments? Fantastic, just like the rest of the hotel!
