Location
The 25hours Hotel Florence Piazza San Paolino is located a little off the beaten track at the back of the Museo del Novecento. And yet it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the train station. But you can also reach the most important sights of the city after a short walk.
The airport is just a 20-minute drive away – or you can take the train. This only takes a few minutes longer, but is much cheaper at around € 3. To be fair, however, taxis from the airport to the city are available at a flat rate of € 25. So the location is perfect. Because on the one hand you enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. And on the other hand, you can immediately plunge into the lively Florentine life..
Style & Character
You enter the hotel through a kind of gallery that leads from the Piazza San Paolino into the interior. A huge, lushly landscaped lobby awaits you. And, of course, the extremely friendly reception. The interior design is by Milanese designer Paola Navone. She was inspired by Dante Alighieri’s work “The Divine Comedy”. And created a place that combines tradition, modernity, seriousness and fun in the best possible way.
The choice of theme is not coincidental. The hotel was once a monastery. Some parts were removed, others were added. Among other things, the premises of a former bank were used. Spirituality and saving gave way to fun and a portion of sexiness. The mood is cheerful. Throughout the hotel, there are numerous allusions to Dante’s literary masterpiece.
Amenities & Service
The first 25hours hotel in Italy scores with a lobby that is both a restaurant and breakfast area as well as a meeting place and bar. There are numerous small niches and an open kitchen. Outside, more seating awaits you in the leafy inner courtyard. If you want to get active, you can start a run through the city in the Jogging Corner. Bicycles can also be rented. The service is typical for 25hours, it seems. Namely cordial, relaxed, warm.
In our hotel review of 25hours Hotel Florence, we would like to mention the fitness area. It extends over two floors. On the ground floor you can indulge in yoga and Pilates. And one floor below, modern Technogym equipment for strength and cardio training awaits you. There’s even a sauna in the garden. A cinema and the 25hours Hotel Shop complete the offer.
Rooms & Suites
Probably the funniest aspect of the 25hours Hotel Florence is the choice of rooms. Because you can make a fundamental decision here: Heaven or Hell? Paradiso or Inferno? If you choose heaven, you go up in the cloudy lift. Bright colours and lots of white await you. And playful bathroom furnishings and rental wings. For the angels among us.
If you prefer one of Dante’s circles of hell, the Hell rooms are the right place for you. Red and black are the dominant colours here. Of course, fun is not neglected here either. The mini-fridges are particularly great. Their contents are included. This is also a trademark of 25hours. The rooms are located around the green inner courtyard, most of them have a nice balcony.
Food & Drinks
We have already mentioned the restaurant in the huge lobby. It is located under an oversized glass sphere. And it scores with an open kitchen. Italian delicacies come out of it. If you can’t get enough of them, the best place is the Alimentari. There you can get wine, snacks and the like to take away. Maybe you’d like to go on a little picnic excursion with the rental bikes. That’s just what you need.
In addition, the 25hours Hotel in Florence has a classic Negroni bar. Thanks to the many intimate niches and the lush décor, you never feel lost despite the size of the room. There is always a feel-good atmosphere. This probably also has something to do with the extremely attentive staff.
Was wir lieben
The location of the hotel is top, as is the price-performance ratio. The people who work here enjoy their job. Discovering the little allusions is fun. Bicycle hire, shop and minibar included? Sign us up for it!
What we didn’t like that much
We really have nothing to complain about. We had a “Heaven” room and would take a “Hell” room next time. Just out of curiosity 🙂
Top-Tipp
Some of the Large Plus Inferno rooms have hammocks or a kind of small front garden. Those who want something more extravagant can book the Casetta del Giardino. This is a 200 square metre flat hidden away in the hotel.
It has its own entrance, a private terrace, a fully equipped kitchen, a pizza oven and an outdoor barbecue area. But the absolute highlight here is the private swimming pool.
