Aston Martin: A Legend turns 110

The legendary car brand Aston Martin is celebrating its 110th birthday. Throughout the year, they pay tribute to past, present and future.

The British car brand has been world-famous ever since Bond, James Bond, first went on a crime spree on behalf of Her Majesty in an Aston Martin DB5 in 1964 (“Goldfinger”). But it all started much earlier, in 1913, and a lot has happened since then.

Birth of a Legend

At that time, Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford entered into a partnership. The two were enthusiastic racing drivers. That was also what connected them: their shared vision of a perfect racing car. And the knowledge gained from the race track was also to be transferred to everyday use. The brand experienced its beginnings in a small workshop in the London district of Chelsea. Innovative design, the highest level of craftsmanship, breathtaking performance and exclusivity were closely associated with Aston Martin even back then.

One of the brand’s oldest surviving race cars is the 1923 Razor Blade. A hundred years ago, it broke numerous records. In the wake of the TT1. Intensity: 110 Years in the Making

The car manufacturer is celebrating the anniversary under the motto “Intensity: 110 Years in the Making”. Part of the campaigns was the release of the photographs of the “Razor Blade” and the “Valkyrie”. In addition, an celebrates the milestone in the company’s history with a new, strictly limited and super exclusive Aston Martin model. It will be unveiled later this year.

The legend was also honoured at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The brand proves that it still sets the tone after more than 110,000 cars built and a century. Incidentally, the DB5 mentioned at the beginning also celebrates a birthday this year. It rolled off the production line for the first time 60 years ago.
