They are actually the most important travel accessory of all: suitcases. One brand that has stood for first-class business and travel essentials since 1975 is TUMI. Now the company is presenting a new suitcase collection in collaboration with McLaren.
Backpack meets Racing Car
The occasion for the collaboration is the 60th anniversary of the McLaren company. Even people who have nothing whatsoever to do with racing know the company founded by Bruce McLaren. What began as a racing team is now the most successful name in motorsport. And not only there. The company has also made a name for itself as a manufacturer of hand-built super sports cars. So McLaren stands for quality. And so does TUMI. A cooperation for a new luggage collection simply made sense.
TUMI develops products for people on the move. The focus is always on impeccable functionality. And, of course, quality. After all, no one wants to have to buy new suitcases after every trip. Ingenuity and high-quality workmanship ensure that TUMI makes travelling a little easier with its practical and beautiful suitcases, backpacks and bags.
TUMI x McLaren – The Collection
“Together with TUMI, we wanted to build on the success of our core and carbon fibre collections with a bespoke Capsule Edition to celebrate sixty years of McLaren,” said Goran Ozbolt, Chief Designer, McLaren Automotive. “This edition of luxury travel pieces also celebrates our founder Bruce McLaren’s passion for looking to the future, pushing boundaries and combining effortless functionality with a modern design language that reflects the ethos of both companies.”
The luggage collection includes a number of limited edition models. These include the Torque Slim-Bag, the Velocity Backpack and the Aero Intrnational Expandable 4 Wheeled Carry-On. All products from the anniversary collection have the McLaren characteristic colour in common. “Papaya” is what they call it in the brand wording. We would say “orange”. And you just have to like it. The new suitcase collection is now available in TUMI stores worldwide. You can also order the pieces at TUMI.com.
