Banyan Tree goes Greece

The company has come up with something very special for the location of its first Banyan Tree Hotel in Europe. It will be located on the Varko peninsula in Pogonia. The impressive coastal landscape forms the perfect backdrop for the new luxury resort. It is located in the west of Greece. Directly opposite: the island of Lefkada. A total of 166 villas and 45 residences will provide dream holidays on the Ionian Sea. Each of the accommodations has its own pool. A water sports centre and a beach club are also part of the property, as are several bras and three restaurants. Of course, the “Saffron” also comes to the first Banyan Tree Hotel in Europe. It is the brand’s signature restaurant. The spa concept of the luxury resort brand is also well-known, even award-winning. Of course, you can also enjoy this in Greece in the future.

Sustainability Focus

The operators – Banyan Tree and the French hospitality company Accor – have big goals in terms of environmental protection and sustainability. No compromises are made here. For the guests, this means that they spend their holidays in the midst of flourishing nature. Water is used responsibly. In addition, renewable energy sources are used and botanically inspired spa services are offered.

All the rooms of the resort are contemporary. And environmentally friendly at the same time. The hotel aims to become the first resort in Europe to be LEED Gold certified. LEED stands for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). This would make the project a showcase for sustainability in the hotel sector. Another hallmark of Banyan Tree is its commitment to the communities surrounding its properties around the world. So far, there are more than 60 of them, spread over 15 countries. Currently, more than 50 new projects are planned.
