But what not so many people know: Ruka-Kuusamo has an ice sauna<\/strong> made entirely of snow and ice. It stands in the middle of the winter landscape. And while you’re sweating inside, you can see the Northern Lights in the winter sky. It enchants with its purple-green veil of color. After the sauna, you can of course cool off outside. Either in the pool, in the snow or in an ice hole. <\/p>\n\n

Adventurous guests may fancy an unusual form<\/strong> of swimming in winter: River floating. This involves floating on Lake Kitkaj\u00e4rvi wrapped in a special thermal suit. While you glide effortlessly on the gentle waves, you can watch the aurora borealis from the comfort of your lounger. The colors are reflected on the water and the thick blanket of snow sparkles all around. <\/p>\n\n

Another wonderful way to experience Finnish nature is on a reindeer safari<\/strong>. Unlike a husky tour, these cozy animals take a more leisurely pace through the countryside.
