At least in a figurative sense. The Curry Island in Vienna&#8217;s eighth district enchants you with authentic specialties from the island nation located in the Indian Ocean. The first thing that catches the eye are the elephant statues in combination with thoroughly functional Western furnishings &#8211; a wild mix, but likeable. Unfortunately, we don&#8217;t know why exactly the tables under the glass plates house gilded jewelry. These are, loosely speaking, deep-fried lentil donuts. At least if there are two or more of you. Because it can be shared perfectly, and gives a nice overview of the multifaceted offer. 5 vegetable curries and 2 meat-heavy ones are served with two different kinds of rice and papadam. The beef curry (although this is probably a matter of faith in the truest sense) with delicate cinnamon and chocolate tones, as well as the one with carrots, were outstanding in taste. We had a delightfully fluffy roti to go with it, which was not a necessity given the generous portions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-else\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What else?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The audience in the Curry Island is mixed. The extremely cordial and attentive service ensures that the group of young people feels just as comfortable as the senior party or the couple in love. In this context, we would like to emphasize above all the possibility of reordering curry from the mixed platter. Twice, we were kindly reminded of this by the service employee, who was dressed in national costume. But unfortunately, full is full, and we had to decline with thanks.
